| UK Sevens Football Tournament - Day 2 |
| |
Day two started with the traditional 'Full English' breakfast washed down with plenty of tea.
| |
On arriving at the venue we noticed depletion in the number of teams. Could the previous night's pub crawl have anything to do with this change of events?
We were drawn in a second league and had another three teams to play. The first team 'Besley and Copp' had an average age of 58 and due to fatigue and injury were unable to field a side. This automatically gave us a five nil victory. We also heard that the next team we were to play a young group of lads call the 'Zeros' had not shown for their first match.
| Could this mean we would make it though to the semi-finals? |
| |
| In the mean time we made the decision to play the 'Badonde Boys' on pitch one. This was a hardly fought battle with our top scorer Julian blasting the ball passed their keeper into the roof of the net. David made some fantastic saves in goal and was awarded 'man of the match'. Even with such fantastic play we were unable to win the tie. We retired off the field of play to an arousing applause from all those who watched the game. |

| |
| Unluckily for us the 'Zeros' had roused themselves from something of a drunken stupor to play us in the final game of this league. By this stage the energy levels of the 'Lions' was flagging and we went down valiantly in our final defeat. |

Getting back under cover we watched the two finals seeing the Chelsea 'Academy' boys and girls teams defeat the local Newquay opposition. |

| With the final trophy ceremony drawing to its conclusion the announcement was made that the 'Fair Play Award' had been won this year by the 'Stables Lions'. |

We were over the moon with excitement and carried the cup safely back to Bisterne. One can only say what a fantastic holiday! |
