Pam says“ My daughter comes home each day and her first words are Busy Day. She thoroughly enjoys her days at the Stables and I could not ask for more.” |

Lucy lives with her mum, dad, brother and two sisters near Salisbury in Wiltshire. Lucy left school in Summer 2006 and her family were keen to help her find somewhere that would offer her a range of learning opportunities and activities during the day. They looked at a few places and felt that SFHT could offer Lucy the best service. Lucy is a very lively, energetic young lady and needs a lot of different and interesting things to keep her fully occupied. She needs structure and routine as well as some flexibility around her individual programme. |

Lucy has a great sense of fun and humour and she has made many friends since coming to the day services.

Lucy says she really loves to dance on a Thursday, go walking on a Friday and she loves her lunch every day!

Lucy's mum, Pam, began working as a volunteer at the Stables in November 2006. She will usually support an individual with cooking or baking. She feels that being a volunteer gives her a different perspective as a parent. “You get to know other service users and their needs. You get to know the staff team well and this helps with communication around Lucy. When I am working as a volunteer I am very aware that the Stables is Lucy's space, Lucy's place, not mine. I make a point of not having much to do with her during the day and she certainly does not seek me out!” |
