Bisterne & Highcliffe
Community Hubs
SFHT offers a wide and creative range of day opportunities, these are available at our main site in Bisterne near Ringwood and our garden and artisan craft shop "Gifted" which is based in Highcliffe. Each person has an individual programme of support of the day options they choose, enjoy or have an interest in, or one that addresses skills they want to develop for more independent living.
As well as providing people with learning and developmental opportunities, many of the day support activities aim to enable people to become better connected within their local communities. We support people to learn about relationships and help them develop their social skills. This engenders more confidence in themselves and a positive self-image.
Bisterne hub:
The Bisterne hub is where our day opportunities began back in the 80s, we now offer a wide range of sessions for service users including but not limited to:
- Accredited Hospitality and Catering course
- Creative pottery sessions
- Horticulture and garden skills
- Dance and Drama
- Art and graphics
- Walking group
- Sport and leisure sessions
Gifted garden and artisan craft shop:
Gifted opened its doors in December 2015, since this date it has established its place in the local community in Highcliffe. The development of skills at Gifted is endless, each session may focus on one skill but with this development comes a boost in self-esteem and confidence to go out in the local community independently:
- Money handling skills
- Customer service and engagement
- Garden and horticulture skills
- Health and safety in the workplace
