SFHT successfully opened its first supported living service in 2016 and since then has established 9 services within the Kings Park, Southbourne and Christchurch area that have gone from strength to strength.

Every property is located close to amenities, ensuring that development of independent living skills is possible, but also that service users are able to get involved in their local community.

In supported living, the needs of those that use our service comes first, from the moment that they register their interest in our service we work collaboratively with the service user, family, social worker and care manager to create the perfect package. Each individual has a personalised support plan that gives specific information on the support required and also how the individual would like to be supported.

Each individual has their own tenancy agreements with a registered housing association. This separates housing and support and ensures people enjoy the full housing rights as anyone else would have. Our Housing Manager works alongside the housing associations to ensure that each property is of a high standard.

Due to each service user having their personalised support plan, each home is also able to provide for those with higher support needs. This simply means that people have support plans that will clearly indicate to their personal assistant when and how they need support. This may include issues relating to personal care, money management, cooking or any area of daily life where people need support.

Over the last couple of years, SFHT has heard a great deal of success stories from our staff and service users. For those we support, being able to do daily tasks and activities, that we all probably take for granted, gives them a great self-esteem boost.

SFHT aspires to achieve the REACH Standards for Supported Living:

1. I choose who I live with

2. I choose where I live

3. I have my own home

4. I choose who supports me and how I am supported

5. I choose my friends and relationships

6. I get help to make changes in my life

7. I choose how to be healthy and safe

8. I choose how I am part of the community

9. I have the same rights and responsibilities as other citizens.

With the opening of 2 more properties SFHT has a number of vacancies available to service users, more information and contact details are available on this page:
